Happy 2nd Birthday Eric!!!

Eric had a quiet 2nd birthday. My cousin Holly and her daughter Hope were visiting from Louisville, so they helped celebrate with us. Holly and I quietly sang "Happy Birthday" to Eric at about 12:30am as he was peacefully sleeping. He wore a shirt that I made...it says "Warning: I'm 2" on the front with his hand prints. And "ERIC" with a big 2 on the back with his foot prints. Hope helped entertain him by pushing him around in a plastic bin, throwing balls, blowing bubbles (well using Eric's bubble blowing hippo). Holly, Hope, Eric and I went to "Chick-fil-a" for lunch. After we ate the kids played in the play room. It was funny listening to Hope calling out "Ericy." Her name for her little cousin that she was watching out for. Too cute! The kids played outside for a little while before Holly and Hope had to return home.

Eric went down for a late nap, had his dinner before Grandma and Grandpa picked us for dinner at Red Lobster. As kids we were able to pick a restaurant to go to for our birthdays. Guess my parents are going to continue it with Eric. We still go out for my birthday, except this year, they were finishing up their cruise. They "owe" me a dinner at the "Birdhouse" (aka The Boathouse). We'll have to go for my half birthday in July. Anyway, we enjoyed the yummy seafood, Eric the biscuits. A few of the staff sang "Happy Birthday" to him over a dish of ice cream with whipped cream. The 5 of us shared it.

At home, we sang to him again with his birthday brownie. He opened his gifts from us and the grandparents. He got lots of beach/sand toys. We gave him a sandbox. And they will come in handy for our vacation in Myrtle Beach next month. Which brings me to his party...

Since Eric is still at the age where he doesn't care when his birthday is celebrated we opted for a cookout on May 24th after we get back from our trip. It'll be a belated birthday party/2 year placement of Eric with us/7 year anniversary (just thought I'd throw that in). We brought him home on May 23 and our anniversary is the 25th. So, he was a very nice 5 year anniversary gift.

Future stripper...NOT! Mommy won't let him.
He was ready to get out of his jammers.

Enjoying the beautiful day.

No, don't touch the candle.

Yummy!

Even better off the fingers.
Oops, sorry...the picture got turned when it was downloaded.

Tether Ball

Here's one more video from March before I post some pictures of Eric's birthday. Dad and Paul take Eric to the playground at the apartment complex behind my parents house. Dad brought his camera and did some video taping, this was the best clip...

Just a heads up, Eric's birthday was quiet, as it was decided that we will celebrate it with a cookout Sunday, May 24. So, save the date!

Just a few March...

pictures and videos. Eric is a busy little boy exploring his world. He discovered how to open the deck's screen door. He doesn't care to have his fingers/hands dirty, so when he's eating we try to get him to lick his fingers off. Before he starts to eat one of us pushes up his long sleeves, not that they still won't get dirty. Removal of clothing is a new favorite, especially socks and shoes, which will be fine when it warms up. But right now he makes me cold when I see him running around on the tile and wood floors. Ocassionally, he practices being a stripper. And he we let him go to town with washable markers.

Oh, yes, here is how I found my baby boy one morning...at least he left his diaper on!
