Joseph has been renamed Arch Lee Jr.. I'm trying to use his new name, old habits are hard to break. He's still Joseph/Joseph Michael/Joey to Eric. The little guy is getting big. He's 10.5 months old with 2 teeth, crawling, pulling up and cruising. Unless something else going on, little Archie comes for a visit every other week. His birth father has been great about the visits and we're very appreciative.
Eric is still a very active boy! Independence and an attitude have taken over my sweet little boy! Tonight was a battle... didn't want to stay in bed, told me 'no' when he was told to go back to bed... what to do, what to do! Even so, I love my boy!
Eric has 2 more weeks of school. One more year of pre-school! He'll move to the afternoon class. His teacher said he'd benefit from the calmer setting that the afternoon class seems to be. He tends to follow the other boys. He'll miss his buddy, Aiden, who's heading off to kindergarten and his girlfriends, Regan and Sidney.
Life has been mostly school and playing. We've enjoyed the holidays with family. Eric really enjoyed having Aunt Kate to play with. He loves his Hummer, motorized kid size car, that he got from Santa Claus and all the Thomas the Train stuff from his birthday. Planes, trains and automobiles remain his favorites.
Eric's g-tube site never closed as it should had so it was leaking. It was surgically closed April 7th. The surgeon said the hole in stomach was like an inch long and never would have closed on it's own. At his post-op exam, we lucked out, his surgeon for his cleft palate was also in the office. He was able to see Eric, saving us a phone call and another trip to the hospital. We were also able to schedule a date for having his palate repaired, July 13. The doctor said we'll hear an instant improvement in his speech. He has so much to say, it will be great understanding it all.
We took a weeks vacation to Virginia earlier this month to see Paul's family and then spend time at a time share. But, that will be the next installment, hopefully coming soon...
