Vacation over, back to reality...

Well, I figured I would finally get the last of the May photos posted. And while I'm at it update Eric's life happenings. He's into his cars and trucks, still. Loves being outside when he can, mommy says it's too hot and sticky way to often for him. If he can get wet when he's out, all the better. Eric enjoys his visits to Nana's and Papa's house, especially if Avery is out he can drive her "geep." He doesn't care that it's a pink Barbie jeep, he loves to drive it! The two kids play well together and have a good time. Mickey Mouse Club House, Special Agent Oso and Dora the Explorer are his favorite TV shows. He can pretty well take care of a whole ear of corn when given the chance.

Eric's language is age appropriate. Due to his short palate, his speech is nasally, this will probably have to repaired. His tonsils are also enlarged, so after he sees an ENT doctor in a few weeks, those my be coming out, which will make his speech worse. I just hope this all works out soon. He talks almost non stop, can't understand a lot of it, but we get the gist of it. There have been times when he's gotten a topic at my parents and just went on and on for 20 minutes. It's hilarious! Last week he wanted a rocket ship, so he told us all about the rocket, helmet and space shoes he needed. It has to be a big rocket. At first he wanted a pink one, but last time it had to be blue.

He's done pretty well with Paul being gone. Occasionally, he'll get a little upset because he's not here, he misses him a lot. But, Eric is a trooper. When a plane flys over, it's daddy. We have to make a map (Ala Dora the Explorer) for when we pick daddy up at the airport. Monday he told me that daddy had to come home and take the trash can out to the curb before he goes to bed. This, after I told him what all I had to do before I went to bed as I was putting him to bed. He knows who takes the trash out.

After the family reunion in June, Eric found one of my dolls and was carrying it around. I bought him one for himself. So, he has his own "ba-gy," which has been taken all over the place. The first Sunday he had it, 'baby' went to church wrapped in a blanket. For some reason Eric wanted the blanket wrapped around him, so we put it around him like a skirt and he was happy. A few days later it dawned on me, I wrap the towel around me after a shower. He likes to imitate us. He'll genuflect when he enters church and he folds his hands when going to communion with me. Eric was flipping pages in a book during church, daddy's way... licking a finger to turn the page. Except that he licked one hand and turned with the page with the other.

Eric must have had a premonition. The two of us would go for walks, Eric on his tricycle and was told to push his baby in a stroller. I'm not sure what the neighbors thought. He was making sure I was ready for Joseph's arrival.

And the rest of the May pictures...

Saturday, May 29
Eric was invited to a "Fun" party at a classmate's house.
We didn't know water was going to be involved, so we just took off his shirt,
although he thought he was supposed to take off all his clothes.
I do carry a change of clothes, so he didn't go home dripping wet.

She's been adopted by mom and dad's neighbors as an outside cat.
Across the "border," she's Anabel Whitesocks.

Nice day for a swing with Avery.

Impromptu water play date with Avery. Both in their underwear.
I did chose PG pictures of Avery.

Myrtle Beach

Eric and I drove to Louisville and spent the night at Holly's before heading out on the first leg of our trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. Oh, I guess I should mention that Holly was going along with us.
She was sweet enough to leave her baby girl and hubby for a week to keep me company and help me out with Eric. Paul was unable go and was missed, especially by his boy.
Thanks Holly for all you did!

Friday, May 14
Eric having fun with his cousin Hope and letting her do all the work.

Saturday, May 15

I love this one! I let him use the blow dryer after his bath.

A little break from the sand and sea.

Thursday, May 20
Discovered the kiddie pool and new and much younger girlfriend, Ada.

Friday, May 21

Told him to look up, meaning look up from playing and look at the camera.
He took it as he heard it. Funny boy!
In time out. I can think of a worse place to spend a time out.

Ada and Eric, "Summer Lovin'"
Too cute!

More pool fun.

Mommy make a great pool lounge chair.

Blowing bubbles.

We took walks on the beach everyday, looking for shells and shark teeth. Eric made his Uncle David proud. Most of the time when we passed a cute female, 21 and under, he'd watch them walk past or stop and watch them. He found another cute girl our last night. He made a bee line for Ashley. I'm not sure if it was just that she was his size (well close, she was a few months younger, but taller) or she had a Dora the Explorer bathing suit on. Eric got hooked on Dora a few days before. Anyway, it was cute the way the just started holding hands and walked on down the beach together.

Eric's other girlfriend... Mommy.

Sea Glass Tower, resort where we stayed.
Bye, bye beach!

Pier 14 and restaurant, Paul would have loved to have been here to go fishing. We did go fishing here two years ago on our first trip to Myrtle Beach. We stayed at another resort about 15 minutes away. All we had to do was take the elevator and a short walk here.
