Leading up to someone's birthday...

Another batch of pictures, I did miss another day, sue me!
March 18
Daddy bought a new magnifying glass. You can see my runny nose better!

March 19
Pointing out the neighbor's dogs to Nana.

March 20
Practicing fishing with Daddy.

Daddy, I don't think there are any fish in the cul-de-sac.

But if you insist, I try casting again.

March 21
Lookin' cute on Nana and Baba's porch.

March 22
Eric's last time at his speech/language play group. He was the "old timer of the bunch." Boy, ya turn three and they kick you out! He was pretty laid back, usually he's a wild child running around, climbing and sliding. He found one of his favorite toys and just pushed the bus around.

On to the horse...

Making sure Ms. Sharon makes the homemade "Play-doh" correctly.

March 23
Helping Nana dish out "Moose Track" ice cream.

March 24
He's become a pro with the tri-cycle.

March 25
Getting ready for bed.

Missed the 26th.

March 27
I promised Eric I would take him out to see the moon before bed. So, he's in his Christmas jammers ("What Santa Doesn't Bring Me, Grandma Will"), pointing out the moon for me, with flair!

March 28
At the time, I didn't know that Uncle David was going to be joining us for dinner on Eric's birthday, so I had made brownies to celebrate, after a yummy dinner of mom's spaghetti and meatballs.

Eric blowing out his candles, one at at time. He actually blew, rather than snorting out the candles.

March 29
The last day of my baby being two. I had to put him in the shirt I made him for his second birthday. After about five frustrating minutes of trying to get him to smile, stand, face me and not lunge towards me as I take the picture, I finally got a keeper.

Next... so long terrible twos, hello... umm... well, let's just hope it gets better by the time he's four!

My little boy is growing up!

March 24... taken me way too long to post this! I downloaded the pictures but didn't get around to finishing.
It's hard to believe that Eric will be three soon! After school's Easter break, he will be starting pre-school. He was accepted on March 12. There are two pre-school classes at the elementary school, 12 kids in the class with 8 of them in the "special needs" category. Eric is able attend because of his speech and language. And we like this because... it's free! I get to have a couple of hours, four days a week to myself. Maybe I can get some much needed projects done.
Eric still has good days and bad days when it come to going to the potty. He's very good about going "poo." Still have to take him to the potty frequently to prevent wet pants. Two weeks ago when the stomach virus hit me and Paul, Eric decided that he wasn't going to bother us when he needed to go potty. He was going to do it all. I was downstairs trying to rest. Eric and Paul were upstairs, where Eric was supposed to be napping. Paul fell asleep, the bug having just hit him. Eric needed to "poo" and did it all on his own, including dumping his deposit in the big potty. I will give him a "A" for effort, "D" for execution. Believe me, I was not really in any condition to clean up what he left for me, but at the time, Paul was even worse off and it was a nasty job that had to done. But, it was funny and God love him, he tried!
At the start of the year, Eric had a very small vocabulary. Then he started to add a word every three to four days. Starting a few weeks ago he has started to repeat a lot of words, so he has a lot more to say. I've given up on keeping up on the number of words he uses now. I asked him two weeks ago what he wanted for breakfast, the usual cereal or toast. "Pa-cake-a!" Where did that come from? I had made them a few weeks earlier, but hadn't mentioned them since. It was just so cute to hear him say that I had to make them for him. I wasn't going to because I only had one egg, but I did make half a batch. A few days later I figured out where he got the pancake idea. He loves "Peanuts." In the "You're Not Elected Charlie Brown," Charlie Brown and Sally are having cereal when Snoopy comes in and makes himself a big breakfast that included pancakes. So, I must have told Eric that Snoopy was making pancakes.
Last week, the three of us went outside to see the space station go over. Eric was more interested in the moon, no surprise. I told him that it was going to be a full moon on his birthday. He repeated back "foo moon on my bir-day." So, now he goes around and saying it's going to be a full moon on his birthday. It's so cute to hear! I hope it's a clear night!!!!
Here's about two weeks worth of, at least one picture a day, I did miss one day...
March 3
Playing with an antique train at Nana and Baba's. The train is pushing 50 years old!
March 4
Yeah! "Phineas and Ferb"!

March 5
We've got him hooked on Disney's "Phineas and Ferb." Which is good for us, since we love it, but more importantly, we don't have to watch another "Peanuts" show for the two hundredth time.

March 6
Cute little man just before bedtime.

March 7
Helping Uncle David plant seeds. OK, dump potting soil on Uncle David.

March 9
Running around in his Buzz Lightyear undies. Helping to make the bed.

March 10
Enjoying a salad at lunch on the "ba de." (back deck) He loves salad!

March 11
Eric at his "pooter."

March 12
Eric's feet can finally reach the peddles of his Radio Flyer tricycle he got for Christmas 2008 from Nana and Baba. The foot rests and handle that Paul put on were taken off. Yeah!

March 13
Eric helped me put sprinkles on the cupcakes for the APOP chili cook off. He thought it was neat because one of his favorite books is "If You Give a Cat a Cupcake..." It goes on with the cat asking for some sprinkles. And, the second picture are the four cupcakes he sprinkled. Starting with the lower left and going clockwise, you can how the sprinkles become more numerous.

March 14
APOP chili cook off... David Fulcher, former Cincinnati Bengal, has been judge for us three years. I've taken a picture of Eric with him every year. Almost missed this year, caught him as he was leaving. Eric was playing in Uncle David's car. Mr. Fulcher was wondering where Eric was. Oh, and my chili took third place!

March 15
I had him all ready for his nap, but hadn't made it upstairs yet. He laid down on the couch and crashed.

March 16
Silly boy! Messy "Moose Tracks" ice cream face.

Putting his "ma mowr" on daddy's new carrying rack. He's just too cute!

March 17
Showing off his new found bike riding skills.

Showing off new riding skill

Ahhh, boys...

I spent the weekend with three of my favorite boys. Saturday night, Paul, Eric and I went to a dinner at Chez Nora in Covington, KY that was sponsored by Paul's pilot union. Eric went because we didn't have a sitter. I knew he'd be the only kid there, fortunately, no one seemed to mind. Thankfully, he was a very good little man. He was entertaining, especially to some of the ladies. I could have filled up on just appetizers, well at least the crab cakes, they were excellent! I checked out the restaurant online and knew the crab cakes were a signature entree.

Sunday, Uncle David came over to watch the gold medal game between USA and Canada. Good game! Too bad we lost, but they have nothing to hang their heads about. We ordered a lot of Chinese takeout, stuffed our bellies, played with Eric and watched the Olympic closing ceremonies.

Monday, Paul worked at his part time job. So, Eric and I spent the day cooped up inside. He has a little cold, sneezing and runny nose. I wasn't going to take him out, as much as he really wanted to go 'bye bye.' While I was showering, Eric changed his pants. I found out why, someone had wet his pants. He told me had 'pooped' too. Sure enough, he pooped in his potty. He wanted to empty it in the toilet, fine with me. Only thing is, he put everything in... container and poop, which I had to fish out of the bowl and clean. But, I'm happy that he's starting to on his own.

Tuesday, Eric had a doctor's appointment (3 year checkup and physical for school). He's doing well. The doctor did the usual stuff and we talked about how he's doing and all his activities. Then we sampled our way through the Kroger deli, bakery and produce before heading home for lunch. Once again we another potty event. He went in on his own, came running out to tell me he was done, then proceeded to 'wash' his hands in his potty. Of course I was like "noooooooooooooo!" Horrified, yet amused. I told him "no", "that's yucky", "we don't do that." Promptly washed his hands. All the while trying not to laugh. Gotta love the boy! Even if he does things that just make me shake my head.

Saturday...reading 'Moon Kitty' with Daddy (It's two books, "If You Give a Cat a Cupcake" and "Goodnight Moon")

Sunday... playing and reading 'Moon Kitty' with Uncle David

Monday... Eric's last tube feeding for the day. Didn't get a picture of the "hand washing" incident

Tuesday... oops! Forgot to get a picture of him! Snuck in his room to get one of my sweet sleeping boy!
