Where does the time go?

OK, yes I was in Myrtle Beach for almost a week, plus traveling, and I had to have my annual Memorial Day cookout, which was two days after we got home, but other than that there's no excuse for me not keeping up with this. My excuse is that I have a little guy on the verge of walking, so he's been keeping me busy. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Anyway, Eric did pretty good on the trip. We left at 5:30pm Friday, May 16...in hopes that someone would fall asleep shortly after he fed at 7pm. No such luck. Eric cried because he wanted to go to sleep in his own bed. The two of us played a lot of take mama's sunglasses off, give them back so she can put them back, repeat. I started putting them on the bridge of my nose and Eric would push them up, then take them off. He knew where they were supposed to be. Smart boy! And he would take, mainly the right, sock off so I could put it back on. Needless to say that one sock should be twice as long as the other one. He would get cranky off and on and he finally fell asleep about 9:50. We got to the hotel in Ashville, NC about midnight. I put him on the bed, he was awake, and was like "whoa, where am I? But this is pretty neat!" Got his pack n play set up, diaper changed, myself ready for bed and we all hit the hay. He went right back to sleep, thankfully!

Here he is on day one, in his jammers, so far so good...

Day two of captivity in the car seat...

I was up first the next morning. So, while the boys slept I went down and had some cereal, from the very small continental breakfast. Oh well, it's not like I eat much more than cereal anyway. I got Eric changed and fed while Paul out everything back in the van. It only took Eric about half and hour before he fell asleep for his morning nap, he slept about an hour. We stopped at Bojangles for lunch. A must when we head south! Eric flirted with the girl who cleaning the dining area. We stopped at a Wendy's to give him his 2pm feeding. Paul was doing the feeding while I was stretching my legs. I saw smoke and thought somebody was burning the burgers. Eventually workers and customers starting coming out. Some were asking if anyone had called the fire department. Yes, saw someone on the cell phone. A few minutes later firetrucks were showing up. I rinsed out the feeding tube, bottle and feeding syringe and said lets go before we get stuck in the parking lot. So, that was our excitement for the day!

Wendy's is smokin'!
