Terrible two's come early!

Not much has been happening around here. Mom and dad came home to their big surprise. They are still waiting for the repairs. I'm not sure what all is going to be involved besides a new ceiling. Paul has been doing odd jobs around the house including getting back to finishing off the basement, yeah! Same old stuff for me.
Now, Eric, well he's a whole other ball game. As the title suggests, he's becoming a handful. He's becoming much more independent, which is OK, some of the times. He wants to feed himself more and he'll tell you so. He'll point to his tray, "put food here." So, I usually give him a little bit in a bowl with a spoon, this way he can try to spoon feed or do finger food. Then he'll start moving the food to the tray or another bowl while taking a bite every once in a while. After a while he decides to practice his throwing...food, bowl, cups. It seems that one of the cats is the target most of the time. I hope this phase goes away soon, because we have tried everything we can think of to make him stop. Oh, and we also like to take food out of our mouth. When this happens, the meal is done. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free . I am more than willing to try something new.

We are also having temper tantrums, if we don't get our way, mommy won't pick me up quickly enough, the kitties won't play with me, I don't want my diaper changed. He had one that lasted for 30 minutes last week. He stomped the floor, laid down on the floor, cried and moaned...so pathetic. It went on for 15 minutes, we pretty much ignored the whole thing, before Paul took him up and got him ready for bed, where it continued. He's had another shorter bout, but most only last a few minutes.

Eric is becoming "monkey boy." He's still too little get up on the furniture. But, he was playing around with the paper recycle basket and had it next to the sofa. Whoa! He was so excited when he got up on the sofa all by himself. Now, his dismount was not so spectacular. He didn't use the basket to get back down. Mommy had to rub his little noggin' from the small bonk. It was a very short cry and he was off to something else. Today he used two plastic containers to climb up on the bed in the spare bedroom. This is a high bed, so this was no small feat. Oh, was he in heaven. Laughing, rolling around, walking around. He loves to goof off on our bed, which I don't like...daddy is usually the one who puts him on the bed. And he can climb into his highchair, when the tray is off. He did this yesterday. He had a chair pulled out from the table and used it to get into his chair. The next time he didn't need any aid. He can't quite get himself seated correctly, has a hard time getting his legs on each side of the center bar. Paul had him at the playground the other day and Eric climbed up the slide into the jungle gym. Eric apparently was having a good time. The problem was getting him down. It's not built for a man of Paul's size to retrieve his son. Somehow he squeezed himself in and captured Eric.
Ask Eric a question and you get the "no, no, no" head shake, whether he means no or not. Everything is "no." Sometimes he'll even say "uh, uh." Paul, David and I swear he said rubber band a couple of weeks ago. He hasn't said it since.
Here are a few pictures...

Take two on the snow angel.

Mom's cool, she let me have Reddi Whip for breakfast!

Hey... it's the same video as the last blog.

We WANT NEW VIDEO!!!!

Nice pic of Eric and Uncle Paul.

And not only whip cream, but his own Honey Bear sippy cup. Bet you can get at least an 8ft stream of liquid from that container.

Eric is good with a spoon! Emma has mastered forks, but not spoons. Such cute pics of the snow, too. I wish we could play in the snow.
As for the throwing food thing...it's just a phase. Emma is still in it, too. That bothers me waaaaaaay more than taking food out. I can't stand the mess. It's a good thing we have a dog. :)
